Helping foster families clothe the children in their homes!

The NEED:
Due to state budget
cuts in 2009, foster children only receive $150 for clothing expenses
for an entire year!
Foster families need the help of the community in order
to assure that the children in their homes have the basic clothing
articles any growing child requires.
The SOLUTION:
AZAFAP has begun to
secure storage units statewide that will function as a
clothing EXCHANGE
for licensed foster families. Each Jose’s Closet location is
individually operated by foster/adoptive parents who are members of
the Association.
Each location relies
entirely on the generous donations of the community surrounding it.
Examples of items needed include boys and girls clothes for infants,
children and teens. Shoes of all sizes; backpacks, baby Items such as
cribs, swings, high chairs, and strollers.
Donations are put to
good use when foster families contact each Jose’s Closet site
coordinator to make arrangements for an exchange of items, volunteer
time, or cash for the items they need!
