May is Foster Care Awareness Month. Bringing awareness to the community about the large numbers of children who have been impacted by foster care is critical to supporting and understanding those in our neighborhoods. The Shine Festival provides awareness and skill building in emotional intelligence through fun activities for the children and caregivers.
National Adoption Month
Celebrating National Adoption Day in November recognizes the importance of stability and permanency in the lives of children. Families are able to gather to celebrate their family officially growing with others in the community for a special day! Children adopted in the current year are recognized and presented with a beautiful handmade quilt or blanket.
