AZAFAP Events & ActivitiesCommunity Awareness & Celebration
Foster Care Awareness
May is Foster Care Awareness Month. Awareness is key for the community as those who do not interact typically with foster care may not understand the large numbers of children who have been impacted. This annual event brings awareness through signs, blue ribbons, bracelets, kites or any other creative way to illustrate the needs of children and the need for foster families. The 2021 event was held at or new office location campus, and families enjoyed inflatables, kites and flavored ice treats from an ice truck!
National Adoption Month
Adoption in the Park, held in Tucson, AZ, celebrates adoptions that are occurring on National Adoption Day in November. Families are able to gather to celebrate their family officially growing with others in the community for a special day!
Each child adopted in 2020 in the AZAFAP community was eligible to receive a new, handmade quilt donated by the Sahuaro Strippers Quilting Club! These beautiful quilts were in varying colors and sizes from which each child was able to select their very own.
