FAQs

WHAT IS THE ARIZONA TAX CREDIT FOR QUALIFYING FOSTER CARE CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS?
Arizona law allows you to claim a tax credit of up to $1,000 for taxpayers filing jointly and $500 for individuals for voluntary contributions you make during any taxable year to a Foster Care Charitable Organization. AZAFAP is a Qualifying Charitable Organization, QFCO code 10008.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Taking advantage of the tax credit allows you either to increase the amount of refund you receive from the state or decrease what you owe to the state. It also allows a say in what your payment actually does.  Our QFCO Code is 10008
IS THERE A LIMIT TO HOW MUCH I CAN GIVE?
AZAFAP will accept donations in any amount. The most you can give for the tax credit is:
$500 – Single Filer
$1,000 – Married Filer
WHO CAN CONTRIBUTE?
Anyone can contribute to our programs to help children from foster care. Anyone who pays Arizona state taxes, whether you itemize or not, single or married, could qualify for the tax credit.
WHAT’S THE DEADLINE TO CONTRIBUTE?

You must give before April 15, 2022 for the Tax Credit to apply to the 2021 tax year.

WHO RECEIVES THE CONTRIBUTIONS?
Your donation to AZAFAP directly supports our programs that benefit children and families:  Family Connections, Family Support Services, Children’s Basic Needs, and Community Awareness.
CAN I DONATE ONLINE?
Yes! Once payment is made online, you will receive an email confirmation that the transaction has gone through. A donation receipt will also be mailed to you directly.
DO YOU RECEIVE ANY FUNDING FROM THE STATE?
No, as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, every contribution is valuable and necessary for our continued success. Our success depends entirely on generous individual and corporation donors.

*We encourage you to check with your professional tax advisor for advice on your personal tax situation and to learn how charitable giving to AZAFAP may specifically benefit you.
