Support Our Work

Stories That Inspire

Every foster, adoptive, and kinship caregiver carries powerful stories. We exist to ensure these families have the support, resources, and community they need.

Arizona Association for Foster and Adoptive Parents

The Arizona Association for Foster and Adoptive Parents was created to walk alongside families like these—those who step up with courage and compassion to care for Arizona’s most vulnerable children.

From providing essential resources and meaningful programs to fostering community connections and advocacy, our work would not be possible without the generosity and commitment of our donors, volunteers, partners, and families themselves.

Your Gift Makes a Difference

Your Gift Makes a Difference
  • $100 provides two children with brand-new shoes for the first day of school.
  • $300 outfits 10 children with warm jackets to stay comfortable during Arizona’s cooler months.
  • $500 refurbishes 20 bicycles to like-new condition through our Recycle Your Bicycle program.
  • $1,000 sends four families to Family Camp—a weekend of connection, support, and the powerful reminder for kids that they are not alone in foster care.

Your donation to AZAFAP qualifies for the 2025 Arizona Foster Care Tax Credit—a dollar-for-dollar credit of up to $618 for individuals and $1,234 for couples filing jointly. That means your generosity not only changes lives—it comes right back to you at tax time. Most importantly, your gift ensures that children in foster care—and the families who care for them—receive the support, resources, and community they need to thrive. QFCO# 10008

AZ Tax Credit

AZAFAP (Arizona Association for Foster and Adoptive Parents) — which operates both Recycle Your Bicycle and Jose’s Closet — is a designated Qualified Foster Care Charitable Organization (QFCO) and your generous donation may qualify for a QFCO Tax Credit. Our QFCO code is #10008.

Arizona law allows you to claim a tax credit of up to $1,234 for taxpayers filing jointly and $618 for individuals’ voluntary contributions you make during any taxable year to a Foster Care Charitable Organization like AZAFAP in the 2025 tax year!

Arizona offers tax credits to those filing AZ personal income tax returns. You can reduce your tax liability to the state by directing your funds to qualifying charities.

Donations may be made between January 1st and April 15th of the following year to be claimed for tax credits. You decide in which tax year to claim the tax credit, by filing Form 352 with your tax return. Each donation may only be claimed in one tax year.

That means your donation helps AZAFAP provide vital support to foster, kinship, and adoptive families and you may receive a dollar-for-dollar credit against your Arizona state income tax.

We welcome your donation of any amount! Donations over the limits are definitely welcome and appreciated, but you may only claim up to the stated limits as a tax credit. Annual limits for Tax Credits are set by the Arizona Department of Revenue.

Anyone can contribute to our programs to help children from foster care. Anyone who pays Arizona state taxes, whether you itemize or not, single or married, could qualify for the tax credit.

No. You can make several donations throughout the year, and all are eligible to claim as Tax Credit – until you meet your limit. Donations do not have to be made in one lump sum.

Yes! After you calculate the amount owed to Arizona for your personal State Income Tax is a great time to make a donation. You will know how much tax liability you have, and can determine your donation accordingly. Be sure to get your donation to us prior to April 15th for it to count as a donation in the prior tax year.

Yes. Donation receipts for financial contributions are generally sent via email if you have provided an email address. If no email address was given, we will send a receipt to the mailing address. If you aren’t sure we have your information, please send us an email at with your information, and we will work with you to provide a receipt.

To claim your tax credit, you must complete AZ Form 352 and follow the instructions provided when filing your Arizona Personal Income Tax.
