Children's Basic NeedsRecycle Your Bicycle and Holiday Toys
This event involves the community giving back. Partner businesses and volunteers collect used bicycles from the community. These bicycles are then gathered at a workshop site where hundreds of volunteers pour their time and energy to revitalize the bikes for children from foster care. A big pick-up event is held on a weekend in December where caregivers are able to pick up the bikes that they have requested. Children who do not need a bicycle receive a brand new toy suited to their provided wish list.
Back to School Backpacks
Choosing a backpack is about personal choice. At the beginning of each new school year, children pick out their own new brand-name durable backpack to last the whole school year.
School Shoes Shopping
For decades back to school shopping has been a tradition in most homes. Getting those brand new outfits is exciting and important to the self-esteem of youth. This event provides each child in the family with a brand new pair of shoes that they pick out at the shoe store! Families arrive at scheduled times and shop until everyone finds that perfect pair of shoes.
Winter Jackets Shopping
Even in Arizona, the temperatures can get pretty cold in the winter. It is a basic need for children to have a warm jacket to wear in these colder months or when they go up to our family camp events. This event allows for every child in the family to have a brand new jacket or sweatshirt of their very own that they choose from a local mall.
